Karim Aïnouz (Brazil)

Karim Aïnouz is a Brazilian filmmaker and visual artist. Aïnouz’s feature debut, Madame Satã, premiered in 2002 at the Cannes Film Festival, Un Certain Regard. His following films, Suely in the Sky, and Viajo Porque Preciso Volto Porque Te Amo (co-directed with Marcelo Gomes) premiered in the Venice Film Festival, Orizzonti, in 2006 and 2009. His films have received numerous international awards. In 2008, Aïnouz directed Alice, a 13 episode fiction series for HBO Latin America. His installations have been shown in the Whitney Museum of American Art Biennial (1997) and the São Paulo Biennial (2004).

Renate Costa (Paraguay)

Renate Costa was born in Asunción, Paraguay. She graduated in Audiovisual Direction and Production from the Paraguayan Professional Institute. She studied Documentary Filmmaking at the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Since 2006 she has lived in Barcelona, where she obtained her Master in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University and developed Cuchillo de Palo / 108.

Carlos Nader (Brazil)

Carlos Nader is a multimedia artist, writer, and editor. He lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil. His work has been screened on television, in museums, and in festivals internationally. Nader addresses issues of national culture and personal identity with humor and experimentation. Pan cinema permanente won the Best Brazilian Film award at the It's All True Documentary Festival, Sao Paulo.

Gonzalo Castro (Argentina)

Gonzalo Castro is a filmmaker and writer, born in Argentina. He directed Invernadero (Best Argentine Film BAFICI ’10), Resfriada (Best Director Award at BAFICI ’08) and Cocina (2009). He also published two novels: Hidrografía doméstica (Entropía, 2004) and Hélice (Entropía, 2010).
